Support Brokers

Support Brokers work for a person with a disability. This is really important! It reminds us all about who is in charge. A big part of a Support Broker's job is making sure that the person that they work for stays in charge of their own life.

Support Brokers in NJ help facilitate the involvement of others in their life -- family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances.

Support Brokers coordinate supports, assist with developing plans and budgets... and then help make the plan happen.

The Support Broker creates a contract with the person receiving supports that clearly indicates what the Broker will provide. This may include:
Support Circle Development
Helping people to stay connected to people who can be with them through their efforts to move in the direction of their goals and dreams.
Support with Staff
Helping people to learn about all of the issues related to being an employer of staff.
Support with Money Matters
Helping to learn about how to manage the financial resources that are available to them.
